Every theme is a paid product. A purchase gives you a licence to use the theme files — not ownership of them, and not the right to pass them on.
What a purchase gives you
When you buy a Hacker Blue theme, you receive a licence to install and use that theme’s files with the application they are made for, on up to three devices that you own or control, active at the same time. It is a licence, not a sale of ownership: the copyright in the files stays with Hacker Blue, and buying a theme transfers no ownership of it or of the Hacker Blue name.
HackerBlue for Obsidian covers the Obsidian theme. HackerBlue Complete covers every Hacker Blue theme included in Complete — the Obsidian theme today, and the themes added to Complete later.
The licence is personal to you as the buyer. It does not transfer with the files if you pass them on, and it does not cover a team, company or other organisation.
How long your access lasts
Your licence starts when the purchase completes. It stays active unless the purchase is refunded or reversed, or the licence is suspended or revoked. A purchase is one payment, not a subscription, and nothing renews.
Files you have already installed keep working offline, and Hacker Blue does not reach into your machine to remove them. A refund or reversal stops future downloads, updates and new device activations for that licence; it does not delete what is already on your computer. Refund has the details.
What you may do
- Install and use the theme with the application it is made for.
- Use it on up to three devices that you own or control, active at the same time.
- Adjust the theme’s files — including its CSS — for your own use on those devices.
- Keep and use the copies you downloaded, and download your releases again while the licence is active.
Updates
A purchase includes the updates Hacker Blue publishes for the themes your licence covers. When a new version is released, you can download and install it under the same licence at no extra charge — a version change never asks a licensed customer to pay again.
Updates are a benefit of an active licence. Nothing here promises future releases, a release schedule, or support beyond what the checkout states.
What you may not do
- Share, upload, publish or redistribute the theme files, modified or not.
- Resell, sublicense, rent or bundle them with another product or pack.
- Install or activate the theme for other people, or deploy it for a team, company or organisation.
- Claim authorship of the theme, or present it as your own work.
- Use the Hacker Blue name or marks as your own.
Not an open-source licence
The theme files are a paid product. They are not released under an open-source licence, and buying them does not make them open source. Nothing published elsewhere about this project changes the licence on this page.
Copyright, apps and brands
Hacker Blue owns the theme files and the Hacker Blue name. The applications a theme is made for belong to their own owners; the themes are independent and are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by those projects.
