How to install

Three steps in your device's terminal. Every command is exactly what you type; copy it, paste it, press Enter.

  1. Put the HackerBlue program on your device

    Linux or macOS: Terminal
    curl -fsSL https://hackerblue.dev/install.sh | sh
    Windows: PowerShell
    irm https://hackerblue.dev/install.ps1 | iex
  2. Sign in

    Terminal
    hackerblue login

A page opens in your browser; sign in to your Hacker Blue account and choose Approve.

  3. Install the Gemini CLI theme

    Terminal
    hackerblue install gemini-cli

Start Gemini CLI; it opens in Hacker Blue. Switch themes any time with /theme.

It changes one setting, your theme, and saves a copy of your settings.json first, telling you where.

Updates come with your licence: hackerblue update gemini-cli when a newer version is out. hackerblue uninstall gemini-cli removes it and restores your previous theme selection, keeping your later settings edits. Every command, and the rest of the guide: the install guide.

The theme

HackerBlue for Gemini CLI is a dark theme for the Gemini CLI terminal: deep navy, steel-blue text, and one cyan signal for links and focus. It colours the whole interface, your prompt, the model's replies, code blocks, diffs, borders and status messages, and body text is kept at WCAG AA contrast or better.

It is a dark theme: it assumes a dark terminal background, and the terminal's own background is left alone. The theme is one small file and makes no network requests.
