Preview: Starship 1.26.0's own prompt output with HackerBlue installed, drawn in a terminal-style window. It is not a screenshot of a terminal.
How to install
Three steps in your device's terminal. Every command is exactly what you type; copy it, paste it, press Enter.
-
Put the HackerBlue program on your device
Linux or macOS: Terminal curl -fsSL https://hackerblue.dev/install.sh | shWindows: PowerShell irm https://hackerblue.dev/install.ps1 | iex -

Terminal hackerblue loginA page opens in your browser; sign in to your Hacker Blue account and choose Approve.

Install the Starship theme
Terminal hackerblue install starshipOpen a new shell to see it.
If your config already selects another palette, the command adds HackerBlue's without switching and prints the one line to change. A config that is not valid TOML, or that already defines a palette called hackerblue, is left untouched.
Updates come with your licence: hackerblue update starship when a newer version is out. hackerblue uninstall starship removes it and restores your previous theme selection, keeping your later settings edits. Every command, and the rest of the guide: the install guide.
Starship, default and in HackerBlue
The same view twice. The switch changes only the theme.

Starship 1.26.0 running on Linux, the same commands in its default prompt colours and in HackerBlue. Captured from a real shell in a throwaway profile, drawn with the terminal's own colours in each look.
Starship belongs to its owner; Hacker Blue is not affiliated with or endorsed by it.
The theme
HackerBlue for Starship is a color palette in Starship's own format. Starship lets a palette replace the colors it calls blue, purple, bright-cyan and the rest, so HackerBlue redefines all sixteen standard colors and every part of your prompt that is styled with one of those names changes with them, without a single module being edited.
It sets colors only: your format, symbols and modules are never touched. What it does not change: any style you wrote yourself as a #rrggbb value or a 0–255 number keeps exactly that color, because it never goes through the palette. It is a dark palette, made and checked with Starship 1.26.0 on Linux.
